The Cottages at Stoneridge Cove is a unique development by Riverstone Vacation Properties (RVP). RVP was founded in Ottawa, Ontario, in 2006 by company president Kent Holmes in partnership with Maple Leaf Homes. The company was formed to promote classic cottage vacations as an affordable alternative. The approach of Riverstone Vacation Properties is to redevelop and revitalize aging tourist facilities with authentic style cottages, offering modern amenities.There are many benefits to focusing on redeveloping older existing tourist cabins and campgrounds.
- Foremost is the reduced impact on our precious shorelines. Our lakes and waterfront are a limited resource, by working with existing sites we don't consume additional waterfrontage.
- Improvements are made to the existing situation - old cottages/cabins are pulled back from the shoreline, aging water and waste systems (which are also often too close to the shoreline) are relocated and replaced with systems employing modern technology.
- Our idea of more concentrated development (several cottages to a site versus single lot subdivisions) reduces the environmental & carbon footprint and allows us to retain our natural Canadian wilderness.
